Un-Scheduled Shoot are always AWESOME!
On vacation this year I met this really nice couple while at the pool. I was telling them about the evenings plans to take photos of my kids and such, and they showed interest in having some photos done as well. I offered them a session, not thinking that they would take me up on since they had just met me and I had no contract for them to sign since I was out of town, but they did.
We met early on Saturday morning, just as the sun cam up on the the beach, and my two girls helped me with the shoot. I told them that it was their job to get the little girl to smile for the camera, and they sure did a great job. Check it out...

"Why the change"?
So, many of my clients have been calling on me in the past few months to ask me about the yearly mini sessions that I had offered in the past and were wondering when I was going to do them again.
Here is the skinny on the change to my pricing and sessions and why. I enjoy photography and I love to seeing the smile on peoples faces when they receive their photos. I love the feedback from Facebook fans. At one point I had enough time in my schedule to devote countless hours to mini session and smaller shoots just for the fun of it, but the reality is that things have changed for me in my "big boy job" and time is now limited. I am not able to run out and do a mini session like I use to because I have to make sure that my kids know who I am, now and again.
So what has changed exactly? I use to limit the number of people in a photo shoot to just immediate family...that is generally not the case anymore. My shoots last anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. The cost is $350.00 and you still get full copyright release. Keep in mind that I know of photographers that will NOT sell their copyright release and you have to purchase all prints from them, that's not the case with me. You get the copyright release so you can print all you own stuff wherever you want. Now if $350 seems steep to you, then think about inviting other friends and family to the shoot and have them split the session with you. That will mean that there will be less photos of just your family but the price will be cheaper for everyone.
In the end, I need to have the time spent away from my family make financial sense and this is what I think will give people what they want as well as being able to still be a husband and dad to my wife and little girls.
You (my photo-fan-base) have been very supportive of my company and myself and it is very evident in the kind comments that you share. Thank you for that.
God bless you all and see you from the other side of the lens.
Alex Aleman.
PS.
It's photos like this that make my clients happy and why you should never be cheap with your precious memories.

Too Much for Words. Chasity Ross is Awesome!!!
I know that I always say that this bride or that bride is amazing, and I mean it when I do say it, but the photos that I got from this girl are just off the charts. Just look at the one on the bridge... she was getting ready for the next shot when I snapped this one and I love it better than the photo that followed. Look, just look.

A Wedding for a Friend.
I have a really great friend. Her name is Brandie Williams and she has been a God Send when it comes to helping me in photography.
She was the photographer who helped me shoot my first wedding, the Del Carmen/Robbins wedding. (If you are following my blog, you will recall the blog entry about Tiffany del Carmen Robbins who was recently killed in a car accident. Go back and read that entry entitled "The Pictured Life of Tiffany del Carmen". You will love it.)
Brandie lets me borrow all sorts of lenses and camara gear that I don't have and she is alway willing to help me out to shoot or to lend me something. I love her for her giving heart, so when she asked if I would shoot the wedding of her nephew I said YES. Anything for this girls.
Check out some of my fav's!!!

The Skaggs Family. Back from Maputo Mozambique in Africa
A few years ago, some really good friends of mine, Wayne Skaggs from Mount Carmel Christian Church, moved to Maputo in Africa.
The Skaggs family had been called to this little town in Mozambique so that Beth could help with her expertise at the CDC there. Yes she is a scientist. I keep asking her for odd ball vaccines but she has yet to deliver. :(
I sure did miss them and when I heard that they were coming back I was so happy and could not wait to see them and spend some time with my buddy Wayne.
Over the holidays, they had family down to visit and they asked to have some photos taken of their family. I did my thing and they loved their photos. They have some sharp looking boys and a beautiful family.
Enjoy.
