In 2011, the PGA Championship Golf Tournament was held in Georgia at the Atlanta Athletic Club in the city of Johns Creek. I
was contacted by one of the vendors, Barton G. Company. Representatives
asked me if I would be interested in taking photos for them of all the
chalets that they had constructed for all the various companies. For instance, Mercedes Benz bought a chalet on the grounds so that they could entertain all their guests and have a presence at the tournament. Barton G came in with a decor design that they built specifically for Mercedes.
What Barton G. wanted was photographs of what the tent looked like compared to their artist renderings. I was honored that they had asked me to do the job and I accepted with a big smile.
I
took my assistant, Jona Olivia Payne, and we went to work. We shot for
about 3 hours and we really had a great time capturing the tents and
all the decor in pictures. We did so in a manner
that would produce some great photos, photos that Barton G. would go on
to use to show future clients what type of work and decor masterpieces
they could put together.
I
spoke with Barton G's Director of Sport and Entertainment two weeks ago and they offered to fly me to San Francisco California to do
they same job for them again, this time at the US Open. What an honor, and I am extremely excited about this trip. I have always wanted to go to San Francisco and see the bay. It is going to be a great time and a lot of fun photographing the US Open decor.
Here are some photos from the PGA from Atlanta. Once I finish the US Open, I will blog about the trip and show you some photos from that as well. Enjoy.
